Moral and Ethical responsibility
Do historians have a moral responsibility to try to ensure that history is not misused and distorted by people for their own needs? It is not a moral responsibility for historians to uncover the truth but it is the historians ethical responsibility. It is their ethical responsibility because we never know what the cause will be if the truth is revealed. They can reveal the truth if it doesn't do damage to the society or they have to cover it if the damage can happen. But in some cases in history it is historians moral responsibility to show how the history has been misused by people who think about their own needs. It does not only depend on which events in history but also the context of the event or the result of the event, if the result or context is morally wrong in their perspective then they should uncover the truth.
