To what extent does packaging for goods contribute to the destruction of the environment? Packaging must keep the product safe during shipment between the manufacturing facility and the retailer and must prevent damage while the product sits on the shelf. Therefore, product packaging must be sturdy and reliable. Each form of packaging uses a lot of resources like energy, water, chemicals, petroleum, minerals, wood and fibres to produce.
