 Can we say that at the rate in which technology is advancing, does it make sense to say that a computer will ever know things?

Technology has been developing quickly since it has been invented, and it is evolved in the form of AI (artificial intelligence). Artificial intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. Specific applications of AI include expert systems, natural language processing, speech recognition and machine vision. In general, AI systems work by ingesting large amounts of labeled training data, analysing the data for correlations and patterns, and using these patterns to make predictions about future states. AI programming focuses on three cognitive skills: learning, reasoning and self-correction. 

There are four types of AI

Type 1: Reactive machines. These AI systems have no memory and are task specific. An example is Deep Blue, the IBM chess program that beat Garry Kasparov in the 1990s. Deep Blue can identify pieces on the chessboard and make predictions, but because it has no memory, it cannot use past experiences to inform future ones.

Type 2: Limited memory. These AI systems have memory, so they can use past experiences to inform future decisions. Some of the decision-making functions in self-driving cars are designed this way.

Type 3: Theory of mind. Theory of mind is a psychology term. When applied to AI, it means that the system would have the social intelligence to understand emotions. This type of AI will be able to infer human intentions and predict behaviour, a necessary skill for AI systems to become integral members of human teams.

Type 4: Self-awareness. In this category, AI systems have a sense of self, which gives them consciousness. Machines with self-awareness understand their own current state. This type of AI does not yet exist.

The 4th type does not exist but may exist as people believe technology will advance into that. So there is a chance for technology to know things if they understand the situation they are in. Most people are scared of using electronics these days as they think that their important files are not safe for anyone else to know. Once a technology has self-awareness it won't be secure. But AI can only do what we want it to do so people believe that it won't advance at that level.

Imagination or Reasoning

  Is imagination more important than reasoning for understanding sources of past? Logical reasoning is more important than imagination because historians need a reason behind their imagination. Imagination is important but not more because without logical thinking there is no scope for imagination. Historians cannot just imagine anything they need a source or a evidence which shows the particular event. Then only if the cost and effect is not present in the shown evidence, they imagine what caused it to happen and how the event affected the environment or the person. The future of Meat-Eating

  To what extent do the development of new technologies affect shared beliefs of society? To satisfy the increasing demand for food by the growing human population, cultured meat (also called  in vitro , artificial or lab-grown meat) is presented by its advocates as a good alternative for consumers who want to be more responsible but do not wish to change their diet.
